  1. Q: Where does the tour meet? 

    A: At the base of the Dewey Monument, the tall tower with the statue of the lady on top in the middle of Union Square. If the monument is inaccessible, meet in front of See's Candies on the west side of the square and look for the guide holding a "Shop and the City" shopping bag.

  2. Q: Where does the tour end?

    A: Same place.

  3. Q: When are the tours offered? 

    A: Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11 am and Sundays at 12 noon.

  4. Q: How long are the tours? 

    A: 2 hours.

  5. Q: Is transportation provided? 

    A: This is strictly a walking tour so you must get yourself to the meeting place at Union Square.

  6. Q: How far do we have to walk? 

    A: We will be walking in an area within about 3 blocks from Union Square and but will be stopping frequently to shop and enjoy the sights.

  7. Q: What kinds of shops will we be visiting? 

    A:  We will be visiting specialty shops, boutiques, and other interesting stores and places. We will not be visiting the department stores, which we figure you can do on your own.                          

  8. Q: How do I sign up?

    A: Just sign up online at www.shopandthecitysf.com by midnight the day before. We take Mastercard, Visa and Pay Pal.  

  9. Q: If I miss the deadline, can I still take the tour? 

    A: You can show up at the scheduled time and place without a reservation, but you would need to pay in cash, with the exact change of $40.   10. Q: How should I dress? 

    A: However you want, but we suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes.
